Before and after pictures of this years big office renovation project and move. The new office/studio is open plan on the top floor of a 19th century cotton mill which has beams and rusty steel pillars and old oil from the machines still on the floors. The walls were peeling and unloved. But there are BIG windows letting in lot’s of natural light (and rain and weeds) and it’s open plan. With a bit of imagination this space could be great:photography-studio-before-after-diyphotography-studio-before-after-pictures

Even though we’re in, we are pretty much working around boxes and unpacking as we go. We’re still open for business so working on orders (which has always been the priority) so we still have lots to do to make it gorgeous. For now it’s very much a blank canvas.

Hope you like it so far.

We’ll get some pictures up of the finished studio soon (well probably just the tidy instagrammable parts).

A big clean up operation over the Xmas holidays was imminent. The office & studio was a huge tip after the BUSY Christmas rush, we were literally walking over stuff. And we have floors, lovely wooden floors!

A tidy desk = a tidy mind. Especially when you have a creative mind which is already rather messy. Having a messy office feels like my brain cannot compute (if that makes any sense at all). Lot’s of tidy space to play with new ideas & designs.

First Day back in work.Tidy desk tidy mind

Fairy lights keep things twinkling and cosy.

A new years resolution of mine: To keep flowers on my desk, kept in a pretty gold and glass vase.

Cream roses in a gold & glass vase

And a brand new diary for all of those lovely lists. Lists for my lists kept in an Italian leather gold diary from Zara

Ahhh don’t you just love a new year? A fresh page a tidy space.

We love our Queen. Vogue followed the Queen on one years progression through the colour spectrum. She’s a snappy dresser alright and her most worn colour is blue. Read the full article in The Daily Mail here

This week me & Lilly made an alphabet wall art. Lilly is loving her abc’s at the moment and I’d searched the internet for some cool posters / wall art ideas to buy and frame but nothing quite grabbed us. So we got creative and made our very own abc alphabet wall art.

This is really easy project for any crafter at any level to do. You will need:

A Ribba IKEA deep frame

1 Piece of Square White Card

A pack of wooden alphabet letters (from any craft shop) which cost around £1.50

Paints assorted colours – we used 5 vibrant acrylic paints

Glue Gun

And it really is as simple as painting the alphabet letters. Let them dry. When dry layout on the card in your own pattern. You can have fun here choosing the correct letters with your little helper letting them choose the correct letter. Glue gun the back of each letter and stick. Frame. That’s it.

This will go in Lilly’s room alongside her other 2 wall art pieces (see blog post).

This week it’s all about colour. Four or five blog posts of colour in fact.

Our obsession with colour is no secret. If you come into the studio, our shelves are filled with colour coordinated rainbow ribbons. Swarovski crystals shimmer on the walls from their pretty glass jars. And our wedding stationery ranges are framed in colour order.

Whilst classic & traditional colours have seen a re-emergence this season (following the Royal Wedding etc). A hot trend for weddings from last season, which looks as though it’s here to stay is COLOUR. Rainbows of colour – which makes the design industry very happy indeed. With so much colour on offer, why settle for just one colour when your planning your special day.

Today we have a beautiful image of a real wedding with rainbow Bridesmaid dresses by Laura Murray Photography via Before the Big Day  (which is a gorgeous UK wedding blog well worth bookmarking) and paired these images with suggestions of coordinating wedding invitations to suit, which are available in all colours of the rainbow:

Hot Trends: Ivory Invitations, black invitations, burgundy invitations, Hot Pink invitations, coral invitations, Gold invitations & yellow invites

Hot Trends: Sage Green Invitations, Aqua invitations, Cobalt blue invitations, lilac & Lavender invitations, Fuchsia invitations, Blush & baby pink invitations All the above designs are available from www.madewithlovedesigns.co.uk. We’ve put together some pretty rainbow mood boards filled with snippets of some of the prettiest rainbow wedding images on the web, to inspire you. We plan to show these on the blog throughout the week. Excited? We can’t wait to show these pretties.

It’s the second in a 3 part winter wedding theme series and as promised I bring you winter wedding goodness to inspire those thinking of having a winter wedding or for those of you who are in the depths of planning your winter / Christmas wedding.

We wanted to show inspiring images to work alongside our new Snowflake Winter/Christmas Wedding Invites new to Made With Love this Winter.

Icy blues Christmas Wedding Invitations & floaty wedding dresses

A perfect backdrop of a crisp wintery morning would naturally be the perfect scene for a winter wedding, but just as in Summer, we can not rely on the good old British Weather for the sun, in Winter we can’t rely on snow. So rather than relying on the weather to create your Winter Wonderland wedding, accessorize with pale blue’s / ice blue’s / white’s & silver’s in your stationery design to really set the scene of things to come. Above image sows Snowflake invitation in pale blue.

Floaty white dresses are perfect for a soft feminine winter feel image via Bridal Bubbly Blog (ok, so these dresses are not going to be very warm but this your one day to shine… who cares about the practicalities… looking good is essential!) wear a dress like this with a fur shrug or bolero for a lovely winter warmer which will look cute in the wedding pics. We’ve seen some pretty fur jackets at Monsoon. Gorgeous silver shoes below via unique vintage.com.

Accessorize the wedding dress with frostings of crystal jewellry or blue stones. Like this gorgeous blue orb ring (image via Polyvore) and this dobber of an engagement ring by Tacori image via Polyvore.

A winter wedding wouldn’t be complete without a winter themed wedding cake. There are lot’s out there but we fell in love with this blue & white snowflake wedding cake image via Bridal Wave. Many cake designers can design individual bespoke cakes to your winter theme so book a consulation with your cake designer to discuss how they could bring out your wedding theme in a new & unique winter themed cake design.

Decorate your venue with lot’s of sparkles & candles, simple green foilage looks beautiful against a blue / white winter wedding theme (candle lit wedding venue by Red Floral Architecture image via Cheshire Wedding Club) and decorate the winter wedding tables and centre pieces with hanging snowflake decorations by eisblumen via notonthehighstreet.com

& to help the wedding day flow, have a table plan specially made to include the seating arrangements of your guests. Snowflake Table plan via Made With Love shown in pale blue winter ribbon with a white French Ornate Frame from £95.00

In the next installment of our winter wedding treat, we will be featuring lots more wintery pretties to make you drool! xxx

Following on from last weeks peach inspired blog post, as promised I wanted to show you some peach ideas to co-ordinate with the new luxurious wedding invitations we designed last week for a client having a peach wedding theme. Not just for peach themes, the vintage peach card used is so subtle that it can be used for a nude / naturals wedding invitation or apricot wedding invitation.

Peach ideas to work for your peach wedding theme

I have never tried macaroons… am I missing out? They’re very ‘in’ at the minute and would make a stylish favour for the ladies at your wedding. Lauderee macaroons look divine and come highly recommended. Buy ready-made gift boxes for favours / gifts for guests or wrap individual macaroons in clear bags and tie with peach ribbon to follow on the theme. The Fleur d’Oranger (Orange Blossom) macaroons look the perfect colour as favours for your peach wedding theme. Peach / pink macaroons image via wedding chicks.

Who could resist a cute flower girl at their wedding. Flower girl dress shown here in peach is sooo pretty and could also be used as Bridesmaid dresses for the little ones from Wedding Dress Online.

soft peach invitations following a vintage wedding theme

Decorate the wedding venue with peach accessories: peach place cards and wedding menus from the Opulence Collection, peach roses, and crystal candelabra’s with tea lights lit to give a peachy candle light glow to tables. Scatter Swarovski crystal table diamonds on wedding tables to catch the light of the tea lights and send shards of peach colour across the room. For a peach theme we recommend using the CrystalAb Scatter crystals or try a coloured table diamond such as the new Light Peach Crystal all available in small packs of 72 crystals or wholesale packs of 720 from Made With Love

Add vintage accessories to add a touch of glamour and follow on the vintage feel. This vintage crystal bracelet via Polyvore would be perfect and these peach vintage earings are so pretty from Etsy

OMG these shoes from Dune are to die for… and a snip at only £75.00. A-mazing!

Sweet little satin clutch from Monsoon

Following on the peach theme this beautifully designed peach wedding cake from Maisie Fantasie is pretty much perfect for a vintage theme too.

A vintage wedding theme, lends itself very well to simple wedding dresses accessorized with vintage jewellery.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this peach inspiration board as much as I had putting it together. If any of the images haven’t been credited, please let me know so that I can credit them.
