Thinking about getting married abroad…? Confeti magazine is an excellent resource for UK Brides planning a wedding in Spain.

This has to be the most comprehensive read for anyone thinking about this option for their big day. And it’s amazing to see our rose & floral vintage wedding stationerydesigns featured in their ‘Confeti loves…’ Summer 2010 issue page 11.

A big thank you to Nicola & the team for an excellent magazine and for featuring Made With Love’s pretty Summer wedding invitations perfect for summer weddings.

Come on England World cup card

Come on England World cup card

We wouldn’t describe ourselves as massive football fans here at Made With Love, I follow Manchester City and Clare is an Oldham Athletic fan, she can sing some of the terrace chants if the need arises. Even with our limited football knowledge we can’t fail to get excited by one thing……The World Cup. It’s impossible not to be swept along in all of the build up and I must confess, I can’t wait.

It’s always a great feeling when the sun is shining, people are drinking merrily in the sun and cheering as one when England score. We’re going to be in London for the Englands first game and so being in our nations capital for the countries opening game is filling us with a bit of national pride, so much so we’ve designed a special Come on England card. We’ve kept it simple and focused on the St Georges Flag, based on our hugely popular Union Jack cards in the God Save the Queen collection from our greetings card range. This card will be available as a limited edition greeting card and also as part of our Father’s day card collection exclusively for this World Cup only

A while back I posted about doing up my little girl’s first proper bedroom with a little ideas board of my plans. The theme was a woodland bedroom with bold red’s & greens and lot’s of nature. Well the room is finally finished and Lilly LOVES her new room. It’s very much a DIY bedroom. I made the light fitting, the rug, painted the tree mural on the wall & stuck little bird houses & flowers/leaves on, made her name in wooden letters.  Here are some pictures of the recycled faux grass rug (by Luxfordst on Etsy & their blog). Over the summer we are going to make a toadstool terrarium and go the woods to catch us some fairies!Handmade grass rug

…makes Clare a very dull girl!

You may have noticed a distinct lack of personal blogs and blogs of fancy. All the posts recently are of designs we’ve been working on or are just work related. We have had a very busy May! It’s been a month of 5am starts and 9pm finishes whilst juggling the happiness of a VIP: my 19month baby girl. I am not complaining. I am truly grateful for every thing.

Amidst the ribbon tieing, the trimming of lace and the frosting of crystals, we’ve been preparing for our busiest summer wedding season. At the end of all this, we have made sure we have booked some time aside for ourselves. 2 weekend breaks to be exact. One in June to London and one in July to Brighton… yippeeee!

Images by Cassia Beck (I have one of her images and they are sooo very pretty – Cassia definitely has an eye for it. Go visit Cassia’s Etsy shop for her full collection)

Some lovely news this week here at made with love. We’re used to dealing with wedding stationery and anniversary cards, so imagine our excitement when we received an order through for a personalised bedazzled card with the wording “Marry me” on the front – A marriage proposal in a card!

James's proposal card to Laura

pop the question with a unique personalised proposal card

We’re incurable romantics here at made with love and so we had to contact James (who ordered the card) for his story. James met Laura a year ago when he started working in the office where she worked. It was all a bit of a whirlwind and before long they had moved in together and things were going swimmingly.

James is planning on taking Laura out for a meal and when they return the room will be decorated with candles and fairy lights, taking centre stage will be a ring and a made with love bedazzled card asking Laura to marry him.

The following day James is whisking Laura on holiday for her birthday, could this story get any more romantic…..we hope so. We’ll update you all as soon as we know the outcome.

We are having a revamp of the business a series of small changes to make a whole lot of difference. A good old sort out of time & space here at Made With Love and as part of those changes Social Networking & Social Sharing widgets are being implemented making it easier for customers to the site to share their finds on their preferred social networking site.

Time & time again, we have wonderful emails and comments for happy customers telling us how happy they are to have stumbled across our site & how much they love our stuff. We’re not all that easily found in cyberspace and so when people ‘find’ us, we want to make it easy for them to spread a little love.

The first in a series of small changes that we can tick off the list are:

– Set Up A Twitter Account and make daily relevant posts – DONE Why don’t you follow us?

– Apply Social Sharing Icons to the website for AddThis (applying code to all web pages to allow visitors to the site to tell their friends and post our lovely cards or stationery items of interest to their profiles). This is really effective and has already seen results.

– Adding RBS WorldPay to the website as the main method for customers to pay for their orders online using their debit/credit cards. We currently only use PayPal which has it’s limitations. (ongoing)

– In the process of adding external links to the website in directories & listings (ongoing)

– Setting up a Facebook page (ongoing)

All really small tasks that are going to help in promoting our handmade lovelies to even more beautiful customers.
